Description:

Originally mistook as a part of the Seyaran species, Lu’ryn are another bipedal species that bear a lot of similarities in appearance to the Seyarans from general appearance of males and females. The major differences are the fact that Lu’ryn are taller than the former’s averages. Unlike Seyarans, the ears of a Lu’ryn are much longer, coming to a point. The interior of that ear is shaped to push sound into the ear. Their eyes are also slightly more oval in shape and are pitch black with more receptors to see better in dim lighting. Their features are also sharper rather than square. Lastly, they do not become larger as they become more muscled; instead, they become toned and denser, much like a feline.

Tribal heritage does provide some physical differences. The Avar tribe was founded in the thick canopy of the north-western island. They tended to have dark gray or brown skin to better disguise themselves within natural environments. Followed up by the Hyl tribe which is the North-Eastern Island’s inhabitants. Their skin color tends to be more vibrant, some even boast of pastel colorations of blue and purple if not others. They are extremely pale otherwise. Lastly, the Oh tribe tended to get more sunlight and fall in between the color rangers of the other two tribes.

The Lu’ryn do display aspects of sexual dimorphism, but less so than Seyarans. Instead, they display it through height and muscle pattern. Neither sex accrues much in the way of fat, which gives them a leaner, stringy appearance. Females tend to accrue more fat than males and have their muscle pattern focused on abdomen and back. Males’ muscle pattern focuses on chest, arms, and legs.

Children are born similarly to Seyarans in live birth with a much smaller youth. However, unlike the rounder-eared cousins, Lu’ryn children are slower to develop, reaching maturity at around thirty years of age, though many of the species refuses to count them mentally an adult until they’ve reached fifty years of age.

Culture:

It wasn’t until recently that the Lu’ryn came into the fold, found on the outskirts of known islands. The pointed-eared people were mostly village based, spanning across four islands. One was the size of the core of Seyaria and the other three islands of varying but much smaller sizes. Dense jungles with canopy bridges spanning the gaps and ravines. The land is hostile, but the Lu’ryn have tamed it and shaped it. A fierce people that could kill a wild cat with their bare hands, but yet war is not their goal or ideal. Many have a saying that means something like “One should be able to kill any opponent, but killing something is easy. It is making them an ally that is the greatest challenge.” It was how they dealt with the land and how they deal with people now.

Getting oneself exiled or kicked out of Lu’ryn society is incredibly difficult and focuses around betraying someone or thing who you allied with. An Ally that sacrifices themselves is not betraying them, but abandoning one to a creature that is too powerful is. Destroying the land intentionally is also another act that will see the offending party exiled. In both of these acts, the offender can still return if they return having done an act worthy of redemption. The act is not specified, but coming back with an unworthy act could spell death. But, if the offender murdered the other member, return is suicide and no act can return that dishonor.

Adaptations:

Due to the dense jungle canopy, their eyes are better adapted to lower lighting and natural darkness better than most others.
