Player Play Pen

What is the Player Play Pen? The Player Play Pen (Or Player P- never mind...) is a place players can go to practice running games in Open Legend without having to commit to making a game. These can be silly and outrageous and out of world. New characters can be made for certain level ranges or old ones from SLC can be used. All rules enforcing behavior in SLC still stand, but things like 'Needs Approval' and the like are left up to the GM to enforce. The GMs are free to run with or without the houserules we use in SLC as well, though I suggest using them. This room does have some special rules though, listed below.

The rules of the Player Play Pen

  • This is not a place to run your personal campaign. I'm fine with one offs and one shots, but nothing of the extended sort.

  • SLC rules are still in play in this room as it is a part of SLC. You can be punished just the same for breaking them. The only rules you can safely ignore if the Player GM is fine with it is "Use the force...", "Characters must be approved...", "I put a silencer...", and "Finders;Keepers".

  • Nothing gained or lost in the Play Pen is gained or lost in the main room. This is because the PP is not canon to SLC.

  • There are no rewards for a Player Play Pen encounter besides just getting to play.

  • All games must be played using the Open Legend System.

  • Your NPCs, handouts, and more should be organized into folders under your name. Any free floating things will be deleted.

  • The setting you run in can be any setting, not just SLC's.

  • Any rules or houserules the Player GM requires must be presented in a handout or otherwise easy to see location.

Signing up as a Player GM

All you need to do to fill in for this requirement is talk to a Moderator and let them know you are interested. It may take some time as the only one who can GM anyone in there is me, so if I'm busy, you may need to wait. We may revoke your privileges if you abuse them, break the rules, or so forth. We may freely reject your application if we do not believe you are ready or a good example for the community. This should be rare as this is a room to practice in after all and if we didn't think you were good for the community... then something else is going on.
