Moderator

These are the people who make sure the game runs smoothly. They are the ones who make sure your custom item is approved. They are the ones who ensures no one is cheating. Without moderators, this would be chaos. Luckily, we have them. Still, they are Seya- I mean human! They make mistakes, so most calls are made as a team and for the ones that aren’t, they can be petitioned. That said, they aren’t getting paid to do this, so be respectful.

Rules for Moderators:

  1. You represent SLC and need to be respectful and on good behavior. Mocking or publicly humiliating someone is not allowed.

  2. Discuss punishments in private with the team before bringing it in private to the person who is to be punished. Do not discuss punishments publicly unless the player brings it up in a public forum. Doing so should be polite and concise.

  3. Moderate the chat rooms to ensure no rules are being broken. If they are in the discord, you should bring the conversation to a close and issue warnings or punishments in private.

  4. If you see someone who needs approval but are unable to get them, call for another moderator to help them. Or if you have the time to do an approval, do it.

  5. If you are not sure how to handle an approval, ask for help or contact me. We are a team, meaning we work together.

  6. You are to ignore any bias you have to provide fair judgement. If you are unable to, excuse yourself and find someone else who can on the matter.

  7. You must follow all of the other rules too and are not exempt from any.

Becoming a Moderator

Thank you for wanting to help us out! There is a lot of stuff that happens in SLC that needs to be approved: weapons, perks, and more. This is a bit intensive, but not as much as running encounters (at least in my opinion). Applying is a very simple process that requires two steps: Interview and Sheet Tests. Before that though, there is a small screening process that determines if your behavior and activity in the community is to the degree we want. Most people should pass this if they are active and not breaking the rules. The tests will be performed by people who are not your friend. You may have different people for each step, but it is preferable to keep them the same.

The Interview

No, not that movie. The interview is a simple process where either in voice or text, we interview you. It's just... really that. Like a job interview, we will ask what questions that see if you have experience with the system, are capable working with a team, and a few other things. This shouldn't take long and you'll have your results usually that day or the next. Once you complete the interview, you move onto...

The Sheet Tests

I have set up a collection of sheets which are full of errors. Your job is to go through three sheets (at least one with a companion or alternate form) and get an 75% or higher on each one. These errors are meant to display possible mistakes as well as cheats. They are meant to be challenging and test your knowledge as well as your ability to approve a sheet. You may do these three tests at any speed and at any time. You may take up to five tests before you fail and have to wait two weeks to try again. It is encouraged you familiarize yourself with the rules before taking it again. Any Admin caught giving  answers to you will have their roles revoked and you automatically fail the tests.
